Last year, Marble Centre International redefined the artistic potential of the stone with Lucent, a breathtaking white Onyx monolith that captivated visitors, designers, and architects at Designuru 4.0 in Bangalore. Set amidst an event celebrating the fusion of art, architecture, and design, Lucent came alive, showcasing the harmony between nature’s mastery and human ingenuity.
Onyx is renowned for its ability to transcend the ordinary with its unique properties. Its translucent quality allows light to flow through it, casting a gentle glow that feels ethereal. Paired with its rich palette of colours and diverse array of patterns, this unique trait enables Onyx to set an energetic mood in any environment. Inspired by these exceptional qualities of Onyx, our design team set out to bring the stone itself to life through the strategic use of technology, craftsmanship, and impactful thinking.
From Conception to Reality
Lucent was born from an ambitious vision: to elevate Onyx beyond its conventional form and celebrate it as a living, breathing masterpiece. Marble Centre International envisioned an installation that displayed Onyx’s splendour and invited viewers to immerse themselves in a heightened sensory experience.
The result was a kinetic sculpture where Onyx became a canvas for a mesmerising dance of light and colour. Illuminated from within through integrated lighting, the stone’s veins and textures revealed their inner beauty, emanating a glow that shifted gracefully in response to the interplay of light and could even synchronise with musical notes. Lucent did more than dazzle; it captivated, creating an immersive experience that ascended the ambience and the onlookers’ perception of what stone could become.
The Legacy It Left
The Lucent installation left an indelible mark on Designuru 4.0, captivating viewers’ imagination and establishing new benchmarks in artistic expression.
